Privacy Policy - BlackStar QR Scanner

1. Principle

BlackStar QR Scanner does not store or transfer personal data to its own servers. If data is stored inside the app, it is stored locally on your device.

Website and free code generator

The code generator on this website processes entered content for QR codes and barcodes only locally in your browser. Title, description and code content are not transferred to our own servers and are not stored. The website itself does not use AdMob ads; advertising information in this policy refers to the Android app.

2. Camera

The camera is used only to scan QR codes and barcodes. Camera images are not saved as photos, not transferred to our own servers and not shared with third parties by BlackStar Apps.

3. Gallery and photos

The app accesses only images you select yourself in order to scan a QR code or barcode. Image data is processed locally on the device. Photos are not stored, uploaded or shared with third parties by BlackStar Apps. Only detected scan contents may be stored in the local app history if you use the history feature.

4. History, library and quick access

Scan results, created codes, cards, folders, previews and quick access entries are stored locally on your device. These data are not automatically transferred to BlackStar Apps servers. You can delete saved content in the app.

5. Contacts

If you import contact data in the generator, the app accesses your contacts only after your permission. Selected contact data is processed locally to create a QR code or card. Contacts are not uploaded and not sent to BlackStar Apps servers.

6. Location

If you use the "own location" feature, the app may access your current location after your consent. Location data is used locally to enter coordinates, an address or location details into a QR code or card. Depending on your device, conversion between address and coordinates may use the operating system's geocoding service.

If you open a location in a maps app, the request is handed over to the maps app or its provider.

7. Advertising

The app uses Google AdMob to display ads. Google may collect, process and share information such as device data, advertising ID, approximate location data, app interactions, diagnostics and technical information with advertising partners or connected services. Depending on your region and consent, ads may be personalized or non-personalized.

The app uses the Google User Messaging Platform to show advertising and privacy choices when Google provides them for your device or region.

8. External services for additional information

Scanning itself happens locally on the device. For optional additional features, detected contents may be transferred to external services. External requests use HTTPS where the respective service supports it:

These requests are made only for the respective feature. BlackStar Apps does not use own user accounts or own servers for these requests.

9. Local crash reports

After a crash, the app may save a crash report locally on your device. This report contains technical information such as app version, Android version, device model, thread, error message and stack trace. The report is not sent automatically. You can view and copy it if you voluntarily want to send it to support.

10. Open-source fonts and licenses

The app includes embedded open-source fonts for card designs. These fonts do not process personal data. The related license texts are included in the app.
